I love to travel: I have been traveling on my own expense for the last 25 years, but my parents started it with my first overseas trip at age 3!
I am currently live in Australia but have lived in New Zealand, Canada, Papua New Guinea, England and Scotland. I prefer the warm, though I enjoy skiing every now and then! I get horribly sea sick, which is a shame because I’d love to cruise: but maybe a European river cruise will happen instead.
I have travelled a lot as a single woman but these days I drag my partner along: luckily he has now enjoys travel too! I have travelled extensively in South East Asia, Australia, New Zealand, South America and Western Europe. Plus a few extra stop-overs along the way.
I took my first long term trip in 1988 long before internet cafes or even affordable long distance telephone call rates. I used to carry a guide book which could be 3 or 5 years out of date. Now I check reviews of a hotel or site from someone who stayed there yesterday. I am not entirely convinced that all the ability to stay in touch and be connected . Its not why I travel; to stay connected to home. Its pretty sad when you go into a internet cafe in Cambodia and its completely full of backpackers online checking their facebook updates or the news at home!
I am also starting to make some money as a freelance travel writer which is very cool.
